Ukrainian lawmakers unanimously approved a mineral resources agreement with the US, aiming to strengthen ties with this key strategic partner and potentially securing military aid in the future to deter Russian aggression. The agreement, unanimously endorsed by all 338 members of the Ukrainian parliament, grants the US priority access to Ukraine's mineral resources and establishes an investment fund for Ukraine's reconstruction. Although the agreement does not provide explicit security guarantees, Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister, stated that the agreement is "the foundation for a new model of interaction with a key strategic partner" and expressed anticipation for the resumption of US support.
