Ukrainian legislators have unanimously ratified a minerals agreement with the United States, aiming to strengthen ties with a key strategic partner and potentially secure future military assistance to deter Russian aggression. The agreement, approved by all 338 members of parliament, grants the U.S. priority access to Ukraine's mineral resources and establishes an investment fund to support the country’s reconstruction. Although the deal does not provide explicit security guarantees, Ukraine’s First Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko described it as “the foundation of a new model of interaction with a key strategic partner,” expressing hope that it signals renewed U.S. support.
