The Indonesian government is promoting a diversified approach to clean transportation technologies to accelerate its Net Zero Emission (NZE) goals, targeting 2060 nationally and 2050 for the manufacturing sector. While electric vehicles (EVs) remain a focus, other technologies like hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and biofuels are also being explored for their zero-emission potential and faster refueling capabilities. Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang emphasized the importance of this multi-technology strategy to support the transition to a green economy. Companies like Toyota have introduced hydrogen vehicles and opened a refueling station in Karawang, with more stations planned by the Energy Ministry to educate the public and broaden eco-friendly transportation options.
