On April 25, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (CNHTC) and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Toyota's headquarters in Nagoya, Japan. Man Shengang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (CRCHI), and Koichi Miyazaki, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation, attended the signing ceremony and held discussions. Ma Changhai, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of CRCHI, and Mitsumasa Yamagata, General Manager of Toyota's Hydrogen Energy Plant, also participated in the event.
Man Shengang stated that CNHTC and Toyota have long been actively promoting cooperation in the hydrogen energy industry, achieving encouraging progress and practical results in the collaborative R&D and application of hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and power systems. CRCHI has always adhered to the philosophy of open cooperation, working hand in hand with global industry giants. It hopes to deepen strategic cooperation with Toyota in broader areas and at a higher level, achieving complementary advantages and jointly exploring the future.
Koichi Miyazaki affirmed the latest cooperation achievements between the two sides. He said that China is a market with enormous potential for the promotion and popularization of hydrogen energy, and long-distance heavy-haul trunk line logistics vehicles are an important scenario highly suited for hydrogen energy applications. He looks forward to both sides deepening cooperation in the hydrogen energy sector, jointly exploring vast development opportunities in the future, and making greater contributions to the global carbon neutrality cause.
Han Feng from CNHTC Group and Shinichi Tanabe from Toyota's Hydrogen Energy Plant signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides. Toyota Motor Corporation possesses world-leading hydrogen fuel cell technology, while CNHTC is a leading enterprise in China's commercial vehicle industry. The hydrogen fuel cell tractors jointly developed by both sides have been delivered to the market in batches for application. In the future, the two sides will establish broader cooperation in the fields of collaborative R&D, demonstration operations, promotion and application, and business model innovation for hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles, jointly creating a new ecosystem for the zero-carbon logistics industry chain.
Man Shengang also visited Toyota's showroom and hydrogen energy power plant.
