Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 25, during the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025, Geely's Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group (“Farizon Auto”) and Bosch Commercial Vehicle Group officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will collaborate closely on the development of methanol-hydrogen electric technologies, core system integration, and global market expansion, jointly building a comprehensive methanol-hydrogen electric ecosystem covering clean energy development, technological innovation, and multi-platform vehicle adaptation.
The agreement marks an upgrade from single-project cooperation to a full-scale strategic partnership. By integrating Bosch's complete suite of commercial vehicle technology solutions with Farizon Auto's full-platform product offerings, the two sides aim to accelerate the adoption of new energy and alternative fuel technologies in the commercial vehicle sector.
Since reorganizing its commercial vehicle operations, Bosch has enhanced its core competitiveness by consolidating resources and achieving cross-domain synergies, offering a full-stack portfolio of technical solutions. Under this partnership, the companies will focus on integrating Bosch's engine alternative fuel electronic control systems, electric drive assemblies, integrated thermal management systems, electronically controlled pneumatic braking systems, and intelligent driving assistance products with Farizon Auto's light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial vehicle platforms powered by pure electric, methanol-hydrogen electric, and fuel cell technologies. Together, they will drive the large-scale application of new energy and alternative fuel technologies in the commercial vehicle market.
Farizon Auto and Bosch have been collaborating since 2022, successfully launching projects such as heavy-duty truck electric drive systems and methanol-hydrogen electric technologies. Their cooperation has quickly progressed from development to market introduction. This year, key technologies including high-voltage integrated thermal management systems, electric drive axles, and fuel cell systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles are also set to enter the market, offering enhanced energy management, safer braking systems, and more reliable vehicle performance for future methanol-hydrogen electric commercial vehicles.
As part of the expanded cooperation, the two companies will jointly accelerate the rollout of intelligent electric and methanol-hydrogen electric commercial vehicles. In the second half of this year, the first batch of 1,000 jointly developed new energy commercial vehicles is scheduled for deployment in both domestic and international markets.
