At the event, CATL partnered with five major automakers—FAW Group, Changan Automobile, BAIC Group, Chery Automobile, and GAC Group—to jointly launch ten new battery swappable models.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 23, CATL unveiled a new lineup of battery swap-enabled vehicles under its "Choco-Swap" platform at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, while also signing a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with GAC Group.

At the event, CATL partnered with five major automakers—FAW Group, Changan Automobile, BAIC Group, Chery Automobile, and GAC Group—to jointly launch ten new battery swappable models.

The newly released models cater to a broad range of use cases, from executive mobility and family travel to affordable options for younger drivers. Among them, FAW's Hongqi launched the EH7, its first B+ segment sedan under the Choco-Swap platform. Changan Automobile introduced the commuter-oriented NEVO A05 priced under 100,000 yuan, the mid-to-large intelligent sedan NEVO A07, and the sporty DEEPAL SL03 fastback. BAIC Group’s ARCFOX brand revealed a high-quality, wide-body electric family sedan, while Chery's iCAR V23 debuted as the first "boxy" model riding on the Choco-Swap platform. GAC Group, meanwhile, announced that the AION UT, the AION RT, and the second-gen AION V Dominator, along with an upcoming A-segment SUV, will all introduce new versions enabled by the Choco-Swap technology.

As the first automaker to embrace full-ecosystem collaboration with the Choco-Swap platform, GAC Group will integrate the battery swap standard across a broader range of its vehicle lineup. The two companies will also expand cooperation across key areas including battery swap station deployment, battery bank services, vehicle marketing, and second-life applications for retired batteries.

To date, CATL's Choco-Swap network has been deployed in 16 cities. The company is on track to reach its goal of 1,000 battery swap stations across 30 cities by the end of this year. Previous collaborations with upstream and downstream players such as Sinopec, NIO, and DiDi, alongside support from the authorities like the Research Institute of Highway, Ministry of Transport, are expected to accelerate the creation of a more efficient, economical, and safer energy replenishment ecosystem—bringing users closer to the promise of "a full charge in two minutes and freedom on the road."
