Indonesia's Nickel Ore Industry Receives Major Investment in 2024

Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Indonesia's Minister of Investment and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), stated that from January to December 2024, the investment in the nickel ore industry reached IDR 1,532 trillion, accounting for over 62% of the total investment in the mineral resources sector, which amounted to IDR 2,452 trillion. Within the specific investments in the mineral resources sector, nickel ore accounted for IDR 1,532 trillion, copper ore for IDR 685 trillion, bauxite for IDR 218 trillion, and tin ore for IDR 16 trillion. Additionally, other significant sources of investment included the crude palm oil/oleochemical industry (IDR 671 trillion), the pulp and paper industry (IDR 640 trillion), the petrochemical industry (IDR 231 trillion), and the EV battery manufacturing industry (IDR 84 trillion).
