According to SMM statistics, the inventory of aluminum ingots in mainstream consumption areas in China stood at 724,000 mt on April 14, down 20,000 mt WoW from last Thursday and 50,000 mt WoW from last Monday. SMM believes that the overall lower arrivals this weekend were the main reason for the sustained rapid destocking pace. Among them, arrivals in Wuxi dropped by about 800 mt WoW from last Monday, while arrivals in South China decreased by about 4,000 mt. Although Gongyi still saw a certain amount of Russian aluminum ingots being warehoused, the concentration level eased compared to that after the Qingming Festival. Overall, the arrivals of domestic supplies this week showed a significant WoW decline, and recent outflows from warehouses were moderate. It is expected that the domestic aluminum ingot inventory will maintain a rapid destocking pace in the short term.
