As of April 2, the total inventory of building materials in Guiyang this week was 57,900 mt, down 5,200 mt WoW, a decrease of 8.32% WoW. Among them, rebar inventory was 37,200 mt, down 4,500 mt WoW, and wire rod inventory was 20,700 mt, down 700 mt WoW.

Dong Lijuan, chief statistician at the Urban Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, commented on the August 2026 CPI and PPI data. On a YoY basis, the national CPI rose 0.8%, with the increase widening by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month, mainly due to a larger rise in energy prices. The increase in energy prices widened from 0.6% last month to 4.1% this month, contributing about 0.28 percentage points to the YoY CPI increase, with its upward pull on CPI up by about 0.24 percentage points from the previous month. Among these, gasoline prices rose 9.3%, with the increase widening by 8.3 percentage points. Prices of industrial consumer goods excluding energy rose 1.8%, with the increase widening by 0.3 percentage points, contributing about 0.42 percentage points to the YoY CPI increase. Among them, gold jewelry prices rose 33.6%, with the increase widening by 9.0 percentage points; prices of tablet computers, computers, and mobile phones rose 21.5%, 19.6%, and 11.0%, respectively, all with widening increases. Service prices rose 0.8%, with the increase widening by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month, contributing about 0.38 percentage points to the YoY CPI increase.
