SMM March 26 News: Today, the rare earth market prices showed overall weakness. In the oxide market, the price of Pr-Nd oxide decreased to 439,000 to 441,000 yuan per mt, dysprosium oxide dropped to 1.62 to 1.65 million yuan per mt, terbium oxide fell to 6.46 to 6.5 million yuan per mt, gadolinium oxide fluctuated between 165,000 to 167,000 yuan per mt, while holmium oxide price floated in the range of 465,000 to 467,000 yuan per mt, and erbium oxide remained stable at 293,000 to 297,000 yuan per mt.

The metal market was also not optimistic, with Pr-Nd alloy prices decreasing to 540,000 to 543,000 yuan per mt, dysprosium-iron alloy prices dropping to 1.6 to 1.61 million yuan per mt, terbium metal quotations falling to 8.06 to 8.1 million yuan per mt, gadolinium-iron alloy prices decreasing to 162,000 to 164,000 yuan per mt, while lanthanum-cerium alloy prices remained at 17,000 to 19,000 yuan per mt. Currently, the rare earth market prices continue to show weakness. Affected by the news of the imminent resumption of Myanmar mine traffic, the downward trend in heavy rare earth prices is evident, impacting the market, with companies generally eager to reduce prices and sell, leading to a continuous decline in market prices. At the same time, there is an increase in tentative inquiries in the market, but overall transactions remain cautious. It is expected that the weak situation in rare earth prices may persist in the short term.

[SMM Recycled Rare Earth Weekly Review: Ore Prices Edge Up, Pr-Nd Consolidates in Stalemate, Scrap Rises Then Stabilizes] Overall, this week, scrap Pr-Nd prices edged up before holding steady. Suppliers held back from selling and adopted a wait-and-see stance, while recycling enterprises cautiously chased higher prices only for rigid demand, resulting in stagnant actual transactions. In the short term, with the tug-of-war between upstream and downstream persisting, scrap Pr-Nd prices are expected to move sideways within a narrow range.

[SMM Rare Earth Weekly Review: Mine prices edge up slightly, Pr-Nd consolidates, medium-heavy rare earth diverges] Lanthanum oxide was quoted at 5,200-5,800 yuan/mt, flat on the week; cerium oxide was quoted at 14,000-14,500 yuan/mt, flat on the week; Pr-Nd oxide was quoted at 728,000-732,000 yuan/mt, rising overall on the week. Early in the week, driven by futures prices stopping falling and rebounding, spot suppliers strengthened their willingness to hold prices firm and raised their quotes, tightening low-priced supply in the market and prompting a slight price rebound. Subsequently, as futures weakened, wait-and-see sentiment in the market intensified, and suppliers' resolve to hold prices firm loosened, with quotes undergoing a slight correction. However, plant quotes remained firm and low-priced supply was hard to find. Downstream enterprises were cautious in inquiries and procurement, and with quarterly locked-price long-term contract deliveries underway, spot order procurement volumes pulled back noticeably, leaving actual transactions in a stalemate.
