ThunderSoft partners with Hyundai Motor, inaugurating joint lab

On March 11, Chinese software company ThunderSoft signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hyundai Motor's Advanced Technology R&D Center and Hyundai Motor R&D Center in Shanghai.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 11, Chinese software company ThunderSoft signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hyundai Motor's Advanced Technology R&D Center and Hyundai Motor R&D Center in Shanghai. Concurrently, the unveiling ceremony for the Hyundai & ThunderSoft Joint Laboratory was held, marking a new phase in their collaboration on intelligent vehicle software development.  

The Joint Lab aims to integrate the technological and market advantages of all three parties through complementary resources and expertise, driving innovation in intelligent cockpit technology. The partnership will focus on Hyundai Motor Group’s new-generation intelligent cockpit platform, leveraging shared resources to enhance Hyundai's competitiveness in China and globally while accelerating the implementation of its Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) strategy.  

The cooperation will span key areas of intelligent cockpit software development, including app stores, navigation, speech and large language models, smartphone connectivity, and multimedia services.

Beyond technology development, the collaboration extends into industry-academia partnerships. Through joint research and industrialization efforts, the partners will share industry insights, market trends, and frontier technologies, further integrating the supply chain and fostering innovation.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
