The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is inviting interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the construction of the 2-GW seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in the UAE, a key component of Dubai's flagship solar project.

The Phase VII expansion will add between 1.6 GW and 2 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity, alongside a 1-GW battery energy storage system (BESS) expected to provide six hours of storage. According to official documents, the project will be developed on an independent power project (IPP) basis. The deadline for submissions is March 21, and the selected developer will be awarded a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).

By 2030, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is expected to exceed 5 GW of total capacity, with the seventh phase set to be commissioned in stages starting from August 2027.
