Silicon Metal Raw Material Silicon Coal Prices Continue to Decline [SMM Silicon Daily Review]

[SMM Silicon Daily Review: Prices of Silicon Metal Raw Material Silicon Coal Continue to Decline] Spot silicon metal prices in east China remained stable. Standard #553 silicon in east China was at 10,600-10,700 yuan/mt, above-standard #553 silicon at 10,700-10,800 yuan/mt, and above-standard #421 silicon at 11,500-11,700 yuan/mt.

SMM, February 24: Silicon metal prices in east China remained stable. Standard #553 silicon was priced at 10,600-10,700 yuan/mt, above-standard #553 silicon at 10,700-10,800 yuan/mt, and above-standard #421 silicon at 11,500-11,700 yuan/mt. Today, raw material prices for silicon metal declined again, with a significant drop in silicon coal prices, particularly in Ningxia and Gansu. The main reason was the continued weakness in coking coal prices, which led to a decrease in mine-mouth raw coal prices. This further weakened the cost support for silicon coal. Coupled with the persistently low purchasing enthusiasm from silicon metal plants, the weak supply and demand caused silicon coal prices to decline in multiple regions. In Ningxia, mixed coal prices dropped by 60 yuan/mt to around 1,100 yuan/mt, while granular coal prices fell by 50 yuan/mt to 1,290-1,370 yuan/mt. In Gansu, mixed coal prices decreased by 50 yuan/mt to 1,100 yuan/mt, and granular coal prices dropped by 50 yuan/mt to 1,260 yuan/mt.
