[China Achieves New Breakthrough in High-Temperature Superconductivity, Making Nickel-Based Materials the Third Type of Material System to Achieve Superconductivity Under Ambient Pressure]
China has made another breakthrough in superconductivity research. A research team led by Academician Qikun Xue from the Southern University of Science and Technology, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Quantum Science Center, and Tsinghua University recently achieved a major breakthrough in the field of high-temperature superconductivity. This discovery has made nickel-based materials the third type of material system to achieve superconductivity under ambient pressure, providing a new breakthrough for solving the century-old scientific challenge of high-temperature superconductivity mechanisms. The findings were published on February 18, Beijing time, in the international top-tier academic journal *Nature*.
