Indian PV manufacturer Solex Energy Limited has officially commenced operations of a new 800 MW solar module production line in Gujarat.

Solex is producing n-type rectangular cell Tapi-R series TOPCon modules at its new facility, with power output ranging from 585 W to 625 W, utilizing 182.2 mm × 210 mm, 132 half-cut solar cells. The company stated that the Tapi-R series modules, named after India's Tapi River, achieve an efficiency of up to 23.14% and are suitable for harsh environments such as deserts and barren lands. The series features a bifaciality of approximately 80% and a power temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C. Solex offers a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power warranty, claiming the series has the lowest annual degradation rate.

With the commissioning of the 800 MW production line, Solex's module capacity has expanded to 1.5 GW and is expected to further increase to 15 GW under its "Vision 2030." By June 2025, the company is expected to add another 2.5 GW of module capacity, bringing the total capacity to 4 GW.

Additionally, Solex announced in October 2024 its entry into the solar cell manufacturing sector, with an initial phase of 2 GW capacity planned, which will gradually expand to 5 GW.
