Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Chery Holding announced a deep technical integration with leading domestic artificial intelligence company DeepSeek to advance its intelligent large model systems, according to reports on February 9.

With the support from DeepSeek, the automaker's proprietary Lion AI smart cockpit large model will deliver more precise voice command responses and smarter contextual applications. In addition, Chery's robotics arm Mojia (name in Chinese pinyin) has deployed DeepSeek large model to its robot cloud platform, setting the stage for more personalized and flexible interactions.

As one of Chery's five core technology domains, the Lion smart cockpit is poised to gain significantly enhanced interactive capabilities under the cooperation. With DeepSeek's cutting-edge cognitive power, the system can accurately interpret vague user commands and swiftly activate in-car functions. Simple voice instructions now enable users to adjust cabin temperature, play music, navigate routes, and perform other tasks with remarkable accuracy.

Moreover, the DeepSeek-integrated Lion smart cockpit will feature proactive service functions by analyzing both in-car and external contexts to anticipate user needs. For instance, when a user enters the vehicle, the system automatically adjusts seat positions, plays preferred music, and even prompts the user about upcoming appointments before reaching the destination.

Specifically, Chery plans to roll out the DeepSeek-powered Lion smart cockpit system across new models in its Chery, EXEED, JETOUR, and iCAR brands while also exploring further intelligent applications, including the car metaverse and smart driving assistance.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
