Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 4, GAC Group introduced its HYPTEC HT mid-to-large all-electric SUV  onto the Hong Kong market at the International MotorXpo Hong Kong (IMXpo) 2024, according to a post on GAC Group's WeChat account.

Wang Shunsheng, Deputy General Manager of GAC International, remarked in his speech that their market research reveals that Hong Kong's new generation of elites are increasingly drawn to green and sustainable products, while embracing an urban lifestyle of style, comfort, and smart living. The HYPTEC HT is CAG Group's first HYPTEC-branded model to be launched in Hong Kong. The model features the gull-wing doors, which is an awe-inspiring design typically found on million-yuan-level luxury cars. These doors open effortlessly, even in tight spaces.

The HYPTEC HT model features fast-charging technology, which can enable the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% of its capacity in just 37 minutes.

At this year's IMXpo, GAC showcased several NEV (new energy vehicle) models, including four BEV (battery electric vehicle) models—the HYPTEC HT, HYPTEC SSR, second-generation AION V, and AION Y Plus, as well as two PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) models, the GAC E8+ and GAC E9. Among them, the AION Y Plus, GAC E9, and HYPTEC HT have already entered the Hong Kong market. With both left-hand and right-hand drive editions, GAC Group aims to cater to the diverse needs of Hong Kong consumers. Additionally, the company presented the A480 supercharger, offering a high-speed, efficient charging solution for NEV users.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
