Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 20, China Unicom unveiled its integrated vehicle-road-cloud solution 3.0 for intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), combining innovative capabilities such as dedicated in-car communication channels, integrated roadside sensing, collaborative edge computing, computing network scheduling, and 5G-A sensing and communication technologies. This solution aims to accelerate the industrial development of ICVs.

China Unicom's solution establishes seven key advantages: increased vehicle penetration, reduced roadside costs, comprehensive city-wide network coverage, enhanced computing and networking capabilities, a robust cloud control platform, map adaptability, and strengthened security measures.

The company is enhancing vehicle penetration rates through partnerships, reducing roadside construction and maintenance costs, and creating a real-time, end-to-end industry-specific network. It integrates computing and networking capabilities to improve data processing efficiency, develops a seamless cloud control platform, resolves HD map compatibility issues, and bolsters safety measures.

In application scenarios, China Unicom leverages data-driven services for multi-scenario use cases such as connected information applications. These efforts aim to maximize infrastructure utilization and establish commercial ecosystems. Additionally, China Unicom is advancing testing capabilities to offer integrated services for the industry while supporting pilot cities in creating industrial clusters for ICVs.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
