On November 15, Changan KAICHENG (also known as Kaicene), the commercial vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, launched its new brand strategy.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 15, Changan KAICHENG (also known as "Kaicene"), the commercial vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, launched its new brand strategy at the Auto Guangzhou 2024, accelerating its transformation into a digital new energy commercial vehicle technology brand.

Leveraging Changan Automobile's technical expertise, KAICHENG aims to integrate cost-effective, advanced technologies into commercial vehicles, bridging the gap between passenger and commercial vehicle innovation.

In response to evolving market demands and industry challenges, KAICHENG introduced a refreshed brand identity. Traditional Changan-branded commercial vehicles will retain the current "sun" logo and continue to provide fuel-efficient, reliable products. Meanwhile, the KAICHENG brand is adopting a new "cube" logo to symbolize innovation and will focus exclusively on launching new energy vehicle models starting in 2025.

Specifically, KAICHENG's first product under this new strategy, the V919, is slated for release in the first quarter of 2025. Over the next three years, the company plans to introduce more than six additional new energy vehicle models.

Central to this transformation is the K01 architecture, KAICHENG's first native digital new energy commercial vehicle platform. Featuring cutting-edge technologies such as decoupled design, hardware-software separation, and vehicle-cloud integration, the K01 architecture reduces R&D cycles by one year, cuts R&D costs by 40%, and boosts manufacturing efficiency by 30%.

Additionally, the K01 platform enables innovations like smart cockpits and digital chassis, offering light vans and pickups with experiences akin to that of smart passenger vehicles. Notably, KAICHENG is opening the K01 architecture to industry collaboration, supporting partners across the value chain through vehicle development, platform licensing, and ecosystem services to drive efficiency across the sector.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
