Bosch recently signed a new strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tencent.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Bosch recently signed a new strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tencent to deepen collaboration across multiple fields like public cloud, autonomous driving cloud solutions, autonomous driving maps, intelligent cockpits, foundational AI large models, and the international expansion of intelligent solutions.

Since their initial MoU signed in September 2020, Bosch and Tencent have launched a range of innovative applications. Notably, Bosch successfully delivered its advanced intelligent driving solution to the Chinese market by the end of 2023, becoming the first international automotive parts supplier with mass-production capability in high-level intelligent driving. This solution enables highway and urban navigation-assisted driving and home area parking. Bosch aims to launch a HD map-free advanced smart driving solution in multiple cities by the end of 2024.

Using Tencent’s robust cloud infrastructure, Bosch has deployed data and applications for its production solutions on Tencent’s dedicated automotive cloud, leveraging flexible, scalable computing clusters for efficient algorithm training, data processing, and simulation to support mass production and iterative upgrades. This marks the industry’s first use of dedicated cloud services for intelligent driving.

Under the newly signed MoU, Bosch and Tencent will further strengthen their collaboration in intelligent driving and cockpit solutions. They plan to explore applications in autonomous driving cloud and map, as well as intelligent cockpit AI large models, supporting local automakers’ global business, hybrid cloud solutions, and enterprise-level AI large model applications.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
