China's Aluminum Imports from Russia Soar to Record Highs in 2024, Boosting Metal Trade by 9%

Russia's news agency RIA Novosti reported that China's aluminum imports from Russia reached a new historical high from January to August 2024, with a 1.4-fold increase, valued at approximately US$2.3 billion. In contrast, Russia's aluminum supply to China in 2019 was only worth US$60.6 million. Furthermore, during the same period, Russia's overall metal supply to China increased by 9%, rising from US$4.7 billion in the same period last year to US$5.1 billion.
