CATL to provide TZCO with power batteries, services

On October 8, CATL and Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (TZCO) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 8, CATL and Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. ("TZCO") signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

Under the agreement, TZCO has chosen CATL as its preferred partner for power batteries in the engineering machinery sector. CATL will provide TZCO with market-leading power battery products and comprehensive service support. The two companies will collaborate closely on both product and market fronts to drive the electrification of the engineering machinery industry with green energy solutions.

Additionally, they plan to leverage their respective strengths to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy storage, battery swapping, and other new energy applications, while exploring various models of collaboration.

TZCO, China's first independently designed heavy machinery manufacturer, is one of the country's top 500 industrial enterprises. Its product portfolio includes industrial cranes, mining excavators, hydraulic excavators, and high-end hydraulic pumps and valves. These products are widely used across industries such as metallurgy, mining, hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power, energy, and transportation, and are exported to more than 70 countries and regions globally.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced.
