IM Motors recently announced its sales figures for September 2024, reporting a total of 4,516 units sold, marking a 150% year-over-year spike.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle maker co-backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, recently announced its sales figures for September 2024, reporting a total of 4,516 units sold, marking a 150% year-over-year spike.

However, it's worth noting that this represents a 26.17% decrease compared to August, when IM Motors surpassed 6,000 units in sales. The drop in September could be attributed to anticipation surrounding the all-new IM LS6, which hit the market in late September.

The all-new IM LS6 was officially unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show 2024 at the end of August. Equipped with the intelligent "Lingxi Digital Chassis" and a four-wheel steering system, the LS6 boasts a reduced turning radius of just 5.09 meters and supports crab-walking mode, making it a large yet highly maneuverable vehicle.

In terms of intelligent driving, the all-new LS6 comes standard with LiDAR and the NVIDIA Orin X chip, offering “mapless city NOA capabilities” nationwide right from delivery. It also features the “IM AD Auto Parking Assist,” which supports over 300 parking scenarios, and “AVP One-Click Valet Parking,” both of which have been newly introduced.

Thanks to this array of advanced features, IM Motors announced that in the first weekend following the all-new LS6’s debut, orders surpassed 3,500 units. Cumulative orders hit 15,000 units within 10 days. Officially priced between 216,900 yuan and 279,900 yuan, the all-new LS6 went on sale on September 26, with more than 11,000-unit fixed orders secured within just 48 hours.

To meet the rising demand for the all-new LS6, SAIC Motor's Lingang factory worked overtime during the National Day holiday to ramp up production, aiming to meet the delivery schedule. Thus, a peak in deliveries is expected in October.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
