Alibaba Cloud teams with Plus to build cloud-based autonomous driving solution

On September 20, 2024, at the Apsara Conference 2024, autonomous commercial vehicle technology firm Plus announced a comprehensive partnership with Alibaba Cloud.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 20, 2024, at the Apsara Conference 2024, autonomous commercial vehicle technology firm Plus announced a comprehensive partnership with Alibaba Cloud. 

The collaboration will focus on advancing autonomous driving innovation and operational optimization in the commercial vehicle sector. Together, the companies will deploy a cutting-edge cloud-based intelligent autonomous driving computing platform tailored for heavy-duty trucks. The initiative aims to revolutionize services for OEMs and logistics partners, enhancing their operations and customer experiences.

This partnership marks a significant step for Alibaba Cloud in deepening its involvement in smart logistics and autonomous driving. Alibaba Cloud will leverage its expertise in cloud computing, big data, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything), and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide full-spectrum support to Plus, from infrastructure to algorithm optimization, accelerating the commercialization of autonomous driving solutions.

Plus will bring its strengths in Level 4 autonomous driving technology, including full-stack R&D, data closed-loop application, as well as mass production and commercial operation. By combining these capabilities with Alibaba Cloud's leading cloud and AI technologies, the two companies aim to build a scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-driven platform. They will also work together on digital transformation initiatives, talent development, and joint marketing efforts.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
