On September 12, FAW Group officially announced that its premium brand Hongqi had surpassed the deployment of 200 own-brand charging stations.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 12, FAW Group officially announced that its premium brand Hongqi had surpassed the deployment of 200 own-brand charging stations, with more than 1,900 charging terminals in operation. Notably, 94% of these are DC fast-charging terminals, all offering power outputs of 120 kW or higher.

These fast-charging stations are now operational across 24 cities in China, including Beijing, Changchun, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.

In August this year, FAW Hongqi revealed that its Power Electronics Development Department at the New Energy Research Institute had successfully developed two new smart AC charging piles, offering 7 kW and 11 kW capacities. These second-generation charging piles have already entered mass production.

The new charging piles feature advanced human-machine interaction, equipped with 2.0-generation near-field recognition technology. This allows for convenient functions such as one-touch cover opening and plug-and-charge capabilities. In terms of energy management, they support scheduled charging, remote control, power adjustment, and orderly charging.

Additionally, the product integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology for seamless connection with smartphones. Users can remotely control charging through a mobile app, monitor charging status, and schedule charging times. The system also offers data analytics to help users better understand and optimize their vehicle charging habits.

Hongqi is rapidly expanding its energy replenishment network. In addition to building its own charging stations, FAW Hongqi entered into a charging interoperability agreement with NIO in June this year.

Since June 24, FAW Hongqi’s users have been able to access real-time information on NIO's charging stations across China via the Hongqi Smart Connectivity App. Through the app, users can conveniently check the location, pricing, availability, and status of NIO charging piles. The app also allows for seamless scanning, charging, and payment, providing a more integrated and efficient charging experience for Hongqi EV owners.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
