Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD's FANGCHENGBAO brand and the ICT giant Huawei jointly announced on Aug. 27 that they had recently signed a strategic agreement in Shenzhen to collaborate on intelligent driving technology.

This partnership builds upon the existing strategic cooperation between BYD and Huawei, focusing on deep joint development of intelligent driving systems for FANFCHENGBAO's automobiles. The first cooperative product under this collaboration will be the soon-to-be-launched BAO 8 model, which will feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, marking the creation of the world's first intelligent driving solution dedicated to rugged off-road vehicles.

FANGCHENGBAO is positioned as BYD's professional personalized sub-brand, aimed at democratizing individuality through technology. Celebrating its one-year anniversary, FANGCHENGBAO is entering a new phase, transitioning from a focus on "professional personality" to a broader "mass personality" approach. This shift includes a comprehensive expansion of its product line to cater to a wider range of consumer preferences. The partnership between BYD and Huawei in developing the intelligent driving solution for FANGCHENGBAO is a step toward advancing smart vehicle solutions for rugged automobile styles, emphasizing the intelligent evolution of off-road vehicles.

The BAO 8 will be the first BYD model to feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, making it the world's first rugged vehicle to incorporate Huawei's intelligent driving technology. According to both companies, development and validation have been underway for a considerable time, with the BAO 8 model expected to hit the market after the third quarter of this year.

Currently, the BAO 8, equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, has entered full-scale real-world testing.

The Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 system introduces a safety-first end-to-end network architecture, providing a driving experience that is more human-like, safer, and more efficient, said Huawei. Safety features include enhanced forward, lateral, and rear collision avoidance capabilities, with improved braking speed and shorter stopping distances, along with prevention measures for accidental acceleration. The system also supports comprehensive "point-to-point" navigation, allowing intelligent driving assistance to handle complex scenarios such as toll booths, roundabouts, and narrow U-turns. For parking, the system offers features like remote parking, where the driver can select a spot on the vehicle's display and then leave the car to park itself. Remote vehicle relocation is also possible via smartphone control, ensuring convenience in various scenarios.

The BAO 8 is the second product in BYD FANGCHENGBAO's lineup, positioned as a super hybrid intelligent rugged SUV. It will be based on the 2.0T DMO super hybrid off-road platform and equipped with the full-function DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control system. This combination of robust performance, comfort, and advanced intelligent driving capabilities is designed to provide users with a superior driving experience.
