Polysilicon

Prices: Yesterday, the mainstream prices for N-type polysilicon were 37-41 yuan/kg, and the mainstream prices for dense polysilicon were 34-37 yuan/kg. Polysilicon prices remained stable with limited pressure.

Production: In August, domestic polysilicon factories continued to reduce production, with monthly output falling below 140,000 mt.

Inventory: As polysilicon production decreased and the inventory pressure of major factories eased, in-factory inventory of polysilicon dropped to around 220,000 mt.

Solar cell

Price: The current price for high-efficiency PERC 182 solar cells (23.2% efficiency and above) is 0.29-0.30 yuan/W; PERC 210 solar cells are priced around 0.285-0.29 yuan/W; Topcon 182 solar cells (24.7% efficiency and above) are priced around 0.28-0.29 yuan/W; Topcon 210RN solar cells are priced at 0.29 yuan/W; Topcon 210 solar cells are priced at 0.29 yuan/W. Recently, battery makers have been clearing inventory, causing a slight price drop.

Production: Recently, solar cell production has been stable. The current market inventory of solar cells remains high. Most manufacturers are maintaining July production levels, with only a few manufacturers increasing production.

Inventory: Recently, cell makers have been clearing inventory, and some leading manufacturers have started to see a decline in inventory levels. However, overall solar cell inventory remains high.

PV film

Price

PV-grade EVA: The current domestic trading price of EVA resin is being adjusted. For detailed EVA resin prices, please consult an analyst. POE PV-grade C4 has been reduced to $2,100-$2,150/mt, and C8 has temporarily been reduced to $2,200-$2,250/mt.

PV film: The current mainstream price for 420g transparent EVA film is 5.46-5.67 yuan/sqm, 420g white EVA film is 5.99-6.36 yuan/sqm, 380g EPE film is 6.46-6.65 yuan/sqm, and 380g POE film is 8.74-8.93 yuan/sqm.

Production: Affected by order demand, current PV film production is based on order requirements. Due to market impact, the current resin production has slightly increased.

Inventory: Affected by inventory adjustments and demand changes, petrochemical resin inventory remains stable. Due to losses and weak orders, film inventory at film factory remains stable, and resin inventory at film factory remains stable.

Solar inverter

Price: This week, the price range for solar inverters is as follows: 20kW at 0.12-0.16 yuan/W, 50kW at 0.11-0.15 yuan/W, 110kW at 0.1-0.14 yuan/W, and 320kW at 0.09-0.11 yuan/W. The prices of solar inverters remain stable.

Supply and demand: The supply side is stable and sufficient. June's export volume hit a new high driven by demand from the Asia, Latin America, and Africa markets. The demand in emerging markets is relatively strong, which is expected to boost scheduled production.

[SMM PV Flash] ContourGlobal Completes Construction of 324MW Solar PV Complex in Colorado
Independent power producer (IPP) ContourGlobal, in partnership with a local public power utility, has completed the construction of the 324MW Black Hollow Sun solar PV complex in Colorado, US, four months ahead of schedule. The full commissioning of this project will supply substantial clean energy to the local grid. With this completion, ContourGlobal's total operating and under-construction renewable energy portfolio in the US has reached 1.5GW. The smooth progress of such utility-scale projects indicates that the US utility-scale solar market maintains a steady installation momentum.

[SMM PV Flash] Germany Anticipates Over 600,000 Tonnes of Solar PV Waste by 2030
According to recent research, with the large-scale aging of early solar power plants, Germany is on course to generate over 600,000 tonnes of end-of-life solar PV modules by 2030. By the end of 2023, installed modules contain significant recyclable materials holding billions of euros in recovery potential for metals like aluminum and silver. Advancing large-scale module recycling not only meets environmental mandates and absorption pressures but also supplements the upstream auxiliary supply chain with extracted high-value metals, paving the way for accelerated growth in Europe's local PV recycling industry.

[SMM PV Flash] First Solar Sues JA Solar and Corning Subsidiary in US Over TOPCon Patent Infringement
On October 1, US solar manufacturer First Solar filed a patent infringement lawsuit in a Delaware federal court against Chinese module manufacturer JA Solar and American Panel Solutions, a subsidiary of Corning. First Solar alleges that these companies engaged in the unauthorized use of its core patents related to the manufacturing of TOPCon crystalline silicon solar cells. As competition within the global PV supply chain intensifies, technical patent scrutiny targeting leading Chinese module makers expanding overseas is becoming stricter, which may bring uncertainties to their capacity expansion and sales in the North American market.
