Beijing (Gasgoo)- LiDAR maker Hesai Technology announced that Baidu Apollo’s sixth-generation Apollo Go Robotaxi, which is powered by Hesai’s LiDAR, will be released to the market this year.

The new generation of Apollo Go Robotaxis, the Yichi 06 (name in Chinese pinyin), boasts a 60% reduction in overall vehicle cost compared to its fifth-generation counterpart, with an official price of just 204,600 yuan.

Hesai exclusively supplies the primary LiDAR for the Yichi 06 Robotaxi, equipping each vehicle with four ultra-high-definition, long-range AT128 LiDAR units. These units have a detection range exceeding 200 meters and provide 360-degree high-definition 3D perception, aiding in comprehensive route planning and safe obstacle avoidance. Notably, this marks the first large-scale deployment of ADAS-use semi-solid-state LiDAR in Robotaxis within China. This breakthrough extends the AT128's application from the factory-installed mass production vehicle market to the L4 autonomous driving sector, offering a high-performance yet affordable LiDAR solution, thus accelerating the large-scale deployment of autonomous vehicles.

By the first quarter of this year, Hesai’s automotive LiDAR shipments had surpassed 380,000 units. In the factory-installed ADAS market, the AT128 has powered the full-scenario intelligent driving systems of popular models from leading domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers such as Li Auto and Xiaomi EV. Additionally, in the L4 autonomous driving market, Hesai supports top clients including Baidu Apollo, Meituan, Momenta, Haomo.ai, WeRide, Pony.ai, and QCraft, with its product performance and quality receiving extensive market validation.

Globally, Hesai maintains close partnerships with nearly all leading autonomous driving companies. Among the top 10 global L4 autonomous driving companies, nine utilize Hesai’s high-performance LiDAR, including renowned enterprises such as Zoox and Nuro.
