Tesla's Shanghai Megapack Factory Set to Complete in 2025, Marking First Outside US

[Tesla: Shanghai Megapack Factory Expected to Complete in 2025 as Scheduled] In a media briefing held on Monday, Tao Lin, the global vice president of Tesla, said that the Shanghai Megapack Factory is expected to complete in 2025 as scheduled, marking Tesla's first Megapack factory outside the United States. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Gigafactory will continue its current production and remains confident in the Chinese market. The groundbreaking ceremony of the Shanghai Megapack Factory was held on May 23 this year. The project is located in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai, covering a total area of approximately 200,000 square meters with a total investment of approximately 1.45 billion yuan. It is expected to start production in the first quarter of 2025, with an anticipated Megapack production of 10,000 units and a storage capacity of nearly 40GWh.
