Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 5, Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFMC) announced the launch of an automotive parts project, establishing a dedicated Parts Division to centrally manage its components business. This strategic move aims to drive transformation and create a leading parts company with core competitiveness.

As a key initiative in DFMC's "4+2" business layout, the new Parts Division will effectively integrate the group's R&D, manufacturing, and talent resources. The focus will be on strengthening and expanding the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle parts business, enhancing control over core components, and building a secure and efficient supply chain. This integration will enable DFMC to offer systematic technical solutions for vehicle production, streamline R&D and design processes, and boost overall vehicle competitiveness through cost advantages.

With the implementation of the auto parts project, DFMC will increase investment in the fields of intelligent connectivity, as well as batteries, electric motors, and electronic controls. The goal is to overcome bottleneck issues and cultivate new production capabilities, providing strong momentum for DFMC's transformation and growth.

DFMC is committed to advancing its new energy vehicle transition. Since 2023, the company has been deepening reforms and adjustments. Driven by these significant initiatives, DFMC's new energy vehicle sales reached 380,000 units in the first half of this year, marking a 118.4% year-on-year soar. Sales of vehicles under its wholly-owned brands totaled 664,000 units, surging 45.5% from a year ago.
