Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 4th, Chinese power battery giant CATL officially launched its commercial vehicle (CV)-dedicated battery brand, "CATL TIANXING".

The main challenges currently facing the new energy CV industry include slow charging, high overall costs, and short transportation distances. CATL aims to address these pain points by innovatively applying four key technologies—super safety, superfast charging, long lifespan, and extended range—into the new energy CV sector under the "CATL TIANXING" brand, meeting the needs of CV users for long lifespan, high efficiency, and high returns.

Technologically, the "CATL TIANXING" batteries achieve 4C superfast charging and a 100% increase in cycle life by using new low-lithium consumption graphite in the anode material and a bionic self-healing SEI passivation film technology, significantly enhancing reliability over the battery's entire lifecycle.

Additionally, the "CATL TIANXING" batteries employ CTP3.0 module-free extreme grouping technology and optimized topology structure, greatly improving grouping efficiency. They also feature dual-layer large surface liquid cooling, achieving ultra-high energy density and efficient thermal management, significantly enhancing range performance while reducing battery weight.

CATL has introduced two mass-produced power batteries in the logistics field: the CATL TIANXING L – Superfast Charging Edition and the CATL TIANXING L - Long Range Edition.

The CATL TIANXING L – Superfast Charging Edition combines 4C superfast charging capabilities with an 8-year or 800,000 km warranty. It boasts a 140 kWh capacity and a real-world range of 350 km, far exceeding the industry average.

With a super-fast charging speed that can replenish 60% SOC in just 12 minutes, the CATL TIANXING L – Superfast Charging Edition is well-suited to flexible freight needs, enabling quick turnarounds for suburban and urban deliveries, significantly reducing vehicle charging time and increasing freight frequency and operational efficiency.

The CATL TIANXING L - Long Range Edition features a 500 km ultra-long range and an 8-year or 800,000 km warranty. With a massive 200 kWh capacity and an energy density of 200 Wh/kg, the highest in the light CV industry, it achieves a maximum weight reduction of 300 kg for the whole vehicle.

CATL acknowledges the complexity and diversity of logistics scenarios, and to meet every CV user's needs, the CATL TIANXING L series offers a range of products with capacities from 30kWh to 200 kWh and real-world ranges from 150km to 500 km. All products support superfast charging and range-extending applications, covering all scenarios in the logistics industry.

Currently, the CATL TIANXING L series has been installed into 21 models from 13 automakers, including FOTON, Geely, Dongfeng Motor, JAC Motors, Weichai, FAW Jiefang, Changan CAKY, LINXYS, Qingling Motors, etc., achieving mass production upon launch.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
