






After the conclusion of the Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference 2024 co-hosted by SMM on June 13, SMM Nickel Industry Field Trip members recently visited PT. WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA. They, along with entrepreneurs from around the world, had in-depth discussions with PT. WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA on capacity, production costs, and long-term planning of the park. During the discussions, the leaders of Indonesia Wanxiang New Energy Industrial Park mentioned that the production lines and industrial segments in the park will continue to be enriched in the future, including the second phase power plant and a future planned capacity to achieve 70,000 mt of high-grade nickel matte.
Company Profile
PT. WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA was established in Jakarta in 2014, dedicated to investing in and operating Indonesian nickel mining, nickel smelting, new energy battery development, as well as power supply and port logistics.
Indonesia Wanxiang New Energy Industrial Park is located in Ba-homotefe Village, East Bungku, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The park has a coastline of approximately 5 kilometers and covers an area of over 1,500 hectares. It has already built and put into operation four RKEF NPI production lines and two 65MW captive power plants, as well as a 20,000 mt barge terminal. To ensure stable power supply and convenient logistics conditions in the future, two 380MW power plants and a 100,000 mt international terminal are under construction within the park.
PT. WANXIANG NICKEL INDONESIA's mission is to become a new energy company based on laterite nickel ore, extending to NPI, high-grade nickel matte, MHP, nickel sulphate, and new energy battery materials. While emphasizing social and environmental impacts, the company aims to improve performance and create sustainable profits through a continuous cost reduction strategy.
