In May 2024, China imported 531,200 tons of sheet materials, a decrease of 2.51% from the previous month and 2.33% from the same month last year. From January to May 2024, China imported a total of 2,543,600 tons of sheet materials, a decrease of 4.69% from the same period last year.

In May, China exported a total of 6,496,200 tons of sheet materials, an increase of 4.80% from the previous month and 18.67% from the same month last year. From January to May 2024, China exported a total of 30,632,400 tons of sheet materials, an increase of 30.04% from the same period last year. Among them, the exports of hot-rolled, cold-rolled, medium and heavy plate, strip steel and other sheet materials all showed significant growth year on year.

[ Bharat Coking Coal Output Grows 2.8% in August ]

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) announced that its coking coal production increased by 2.8% year-on-year to 2.18 million tonnes in August 2026. Despite a sharp 65.9% drop in non-coking coal output, the core metallurgical segment drove total raw coal production to 2.21 million tonnes for the month. Opencast mining operations were the primary contributors to this volume, generating 2.19 million tonnes of the total yield.
