Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 20, WeRide, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, announced its partnership with Singapore's renowned sanitation company Chye Thiam Maintenance (CTM) to advance the commercial deployment of WeRide's autonomous street sanitation vehicle, the Robosweeper, in Singapore.

The first batch of the Robosweepers has successfully arrived in Singapore and is undergoing safety tests, with full operation expected by the end of 2024.

CTM, one of Singapore's largest and highest-ranking cleaning and waste management companies, has long-standing partnerships with the Singapore government and the entertainment and tourism sectors. Since September 2022, WeRide’s smart sanitation services have been implemented in cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian, Beijing, and Zhengzhou, contributing to smart city development and enhancing urban living standards.

The collaboration between WeRide and CTM will provide Singapore with cutting-edge technology and high-quality autonomous sanitation services, representing a significant fusion of technology, market innovation, and partnership.

As WeRide's flagship product in the smart sanitation sector, the Robosweeper is equipped with WeRide's proprietary autonomous driving software and hardware architecture, featuring high-precision sensors and AI algorithms. It efficiently performs various urban sanitation tasks, such as road sweeping, water spraying for dust control, and disinfectant spraying. The Robosweeper can autonomously detect road conditions, avoid pedestrians and obstacles, ensuring safety while enhancing cleaning efficiency. It is also powered by electricity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 10,000 kilograms per month, thus supporting Singapore’s green transition in sanitation.

The launch in Singapore marks WeRide’s successful entry into the global market, expanding its commercial footprint and potential. WeRide plans to use Singapore as a strategic hub to rapidly enter the Southeast Asian sanitation market, providing efficient and high-quality autonomous sanitation services to more countries and cities.
