Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 13, KargoBot, DiDi's autonomous truck solution developer, commenced Level-4 autonomous convoy demonstration operations on a major commodity transport route from a coal mine in Ordos to a power plant in Kangbashi District in Inner Mongolia.

This 50-kilometer route, which handles an annual freight volume of over one million tonnes, includes a variety of complex road scenarios such as expressways, first-class roads, and dedicated mining area roads.

Kangbashi District, the core urban area of Ordos, has been advancing the construction of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) pilot and demonstration zones, achieving comprehensive ICV road testing openness. In March 2024, KargoBot received Ordos' first intelligent connected vehicle test license, which is also the first autonomous heavy truck test license issued in Inner Mongolia.

The vehicles in this operation are equipped with KargoBot's Level-4 autonomous convoy system and are new energy heavy-duty truck models co-developed with Shaanxi Automobile. These trucks can recharge at a smart port in Ordos near the power plant, ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly transport services.

KargoBot is dedicated to promoting the autonomous convoy model nationwide, driving the intelligent transformation of road freight transportation. As the first company in China authorized to conduct Level-4 convoy testing on open roads in Beijing and Tianjin, KargoBot operates in stable deployment scenarios across North and Northwest China, providing end-to-end intelligent transport solutions for short, medium, and long-distance routes. As of May this year, KargoBot has accumulated over 3.2 million tonne-kilometers of Level-4 autonomous freight transport, with its demonstration operations covering more than 6 million kilometers.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
