Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 19, Volvo Cars officially announced the pricing for its new small-sized all-electric SUV, the EX30. The new model comes in four versions, with prices ranging from 200,800 yuan to 255,800 yuan.

The Volvo EX30 is a globally-oriented vehicle model, maintaining the brand's iconic "Scandinavian designstyle. The most striking feature at the front is the "T"-shaped headlights with a grid-like light source, exuding a high-tech feel. The front face features a closed design but retains Volvo's distinctive logo with a seatbelt.

The Volvo EX30 has smooth body lines, with the A, B, and C pillars in a smoky black design, complemented by large, low-drag wheels and side skirts with anti-scratch strips. Notably, the car does not use hidden door handles. At the rear, the EX30 retains Volvo's iconic design with split taillights and a circular, full-width design. The "Volvo Asia-Pacificbadge indicates that it is locally produced in China.

Inside, the EX30's cockpit continues the minimalist design with a classic 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with touch buttons, hidden air vents, and a smooth central armrest. Almost no physical buttons are present, creating a high-tech and upscale atmosphere. Besides, a 1.2-meter Harman Kardon soundbar spans the dashboard, providing an immersive audio experience.

Volvo, committed to sustainability, uses materials like linen fiber and denim elements, incorporating vegan leather and wool blends. Additionally, 30% of the decorative panels are made from recycled plastic and renewable materials. The door panel design is inspired by the starry sky over Abisko in northern Sweden, with no two EX30s having identical starry designs. The new car offers five exterior colors and four interior themes.

Built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform dedicated to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), the Volvo EX30 measures 4,233 mm in length, 1,838 mm in width, and 1,555 mm in height, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. The entry-level model features 225/55 R18 wheels, the mid-spec model has 245/45 R19 wheels, and the top-spec model has 245/40 R20 wheels.

It offers both a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a dual-motor all-wheel drive option (AWD). The AWD version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and has a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 590 km.
