Beijing (Gasgoo)- During the Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Chery Automobile signed a cooperation agreement with NVIDIA to further enhance collaboration in the field of autonomous driving.

Leveraging their respective technological advantages, the two parties will upgrade their cooperation from the existing NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform and jointly develop a new-generation high-end intelligent driving platform around the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor platform, starting with Chery's high-end models.

The recently launched pre-sale of Chery's new model, the EXEED STERRA ET, is based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform. Equipped with LiDAR and two Orin chips, it features NEP full-scenario intelligent driving assistance, enabling autonomous driving assistance on urban roads and highways. Moreover, the EXEED STERRA ET supports intelligent parking assistance, including automatic parking, remote parking, and valet parking, providing users with a safe and intelligent driving experience.

The next-generation NVIDIA DRIVE Thor chip will feature the new NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, designed specifically for Transformer, large language models (LLM), and generative AI workloads. It will offer rich intelligent cockpit functions, as well as safe and reliable highly automated driving and unmanned driving capabilities, seamlessly integrating all functions into a centralized AI platform.

Backed by the "Yaoguang 2025" forward-looking technology strategy, Chery plans to invest over 100 billion yuan in technology R&D over the next five years, with 20 billion yuan allocated to the field of intelligence. Chery aims to establish over 300 Yaoguang laboratories worldwide.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
