Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 25, ZEEKR, Geely's premium new energy vehicle brand, officially launched the Sustainable Experience Architecture-M (SEA-M) at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing. Simultaneously, the first family-oriented vehicle model developed on this architecture, the ZEEKR MIX, made its global premiere.

With a fresh perspective on future travel, ZEEKR invested 7 billion yuan in the exclusive R&D of the SEA-M architecture, revolutionizing the space design of electric vehicles and creating a futuristic electric vehicle architecture, surpassing the conventions of the past.

Most electric vehicles currently achieve a space utilization rate of around 70%, with no significant breakthrough compared to traditional oil-fueled vehicles. ZEEKR, however, with technological breakthroughs, has increased the space utilization rate to over 80% with the SEA-M architecture, exceeding mid-size car standards.

To provide mid-sized cars with the spaciousness of large cars, the SEA-M architecture underwent a thorough transformation, with the wheelbase ratio exceeding 64%, allowing the first product ride on the architecture to achieve a wheelbase of over 3 meters with a length of less than 4.7 meters. By designing a short front overhang and moving the air conditioning system more to the front, the cabin’s front space is maximized. Separating the shock absorbers from the springs and using a more compact coaxial motor move the second floor beam to the rear, increasing rear space. Optimized door structures and materials increase cabin width by over 10%, accommodating even three seats in the first row. Additionally, the SEA-M architecture features the most regular cabin floor, eliminating thresholds, bumps, ensuring easy boarding and exiting.

The SEA-M architecture not only provides mid-size cars with the space of large cars but also maintains the agility of small cars. The first product based on this architecture boasts a minimum turning radius of less than 5 meters, and a suspension structure that allows the vehicle to achieve a front wheel turning angle exceeding 50 degrees.

The SEA-M architecture introduces the industry's first continuous electric swipe door, previously seen only on the ZEEKR M-Vision concept car, now in mass production. Compared to traditional swipe doors, the continuous electric swipe door offers two core advantages. First, the application of front and rear double-sided swing doors allows the vehicle to not occupy additional space when parked, ensuring safety and convenience. Second, the front and rear row continuous design allows both doors to open to the maximum, providing an industry-leading 1.48-meter-wide door opening space with no structural obstructions, no thresholds, and a ground clearance of only 390 mm, making boarding and exiting convenient for everyone.

The SEA-M architecture introduces ZEEKR's pioneering hidden double B-pillar design, which increases the material strength of the traditional B-pillar by 33%. Inside each door on both sides, two approximately 70mm ultra-high-strength steel pillars are equipped, each made of 2,000MPa ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel, equivalent to the material strength used in submarine construction, and manufactured through a hot gas expansion integrated molding process, ensuring no gaps from the inside out.

As the first family-oriented product developed on the SEA-M architecture, the ZEEKR MIX is positioned as a family-oriented all-scenario large five-seater pure electric vehicle, offering the largest cabin space in its class and the most diverse cabin scenario modes in the entire industry, breaking through the imagination of future travel, said ZEEKR.
