BYD to unveil Seal 06 DM-i model at Auto China 2024

On April 20, BYD released the teaser trailer of the Seal 06 DM-i under its Ocean series. The new vehicle is to make its debut at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024).

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 20, BYD released the teaser trailer of the Seal 06 DM-i under its Ocean series. The new vehicle is to make its debut at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024).

The front end of the new sedan incorporates the iconic design of the Ocean series, with trapezoidal front grille, sleek headlights and a fastback-style car body. Together with the low-slung design, the trendy through-type tailight highlights the youthful and sporty atmosphere, making the new sedan to be more aesthetically pleasing for young people.

According to the information declared to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Seal 06 DM-i measures 4,830mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790mm.

The dimensions of the new vehicle is close to those of the BYD Qin L, which measures 4,830mm long, 1,990mm wide and 1,495mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,790mm. 

Additionally, the new sedan is equipped with petal-styled wheel and offers options for no sunroof, panoramic sunroof, or small sunroof.

Powerwise, the Seal DM-i adopts a plug-in hybrid electric system, which consists of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power output of 74kw, and there are two versions of the electric motor available, with power outputs of 120kw and 160kw respectively. 

The range of the Seal 06 DM-i on battery power alone is 60km and 90km, respectively.
