Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 10, Chinese home appliance giant Midea Group and electric vehicle manufacturer NIO signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the Midea Welling Auto Parts' factory in Anqing city, Anhui province.

Under this agreement, the two parties will deepen their collaboration in the field of automotive parts and the development of new technologies, jointly exploring new technologies suitable for intelligent electric vehicle-related scenarios. Together, they will develop products including, but not limited to, air conditioning compressors, electric drives, thermal management integration, and onboard refrigerators. Additionally, in the industrial technology sector, Midea Group will leverage its advantages in robotics and digitalization to collaborate with NIO in areas such as industrial robot bodies, automotive and commonly-used industrial automation solutions, motion control solutions, digital management systems, and intelligent logistics.

Achieving the "dual-carbon" goals (carbon peak and carbon neutrality) is an important national strategy for China and a key goal in the pursuit of sustainable development for both parties. Per the agreement, they agree to communicate and exchange information, application scenarios, and solutions related to dual carbon goals, jointly exploring carbon reduction initiatives. Midea said is keen to share its experiences in low-carbon park management and further explore collaboration in industrial park construction, building automation, and energy management solutions to support the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.

At the same time, Midea Welling Auto Parts' next-generation 900V round-wire stator rolled off the production line as well. Its production line, with an automation level of up to 93%, significantly enhances efficiency and quality, said Midea. It can achieve agile and rapid switching among multiple products throughout the entire production process and precisely trace the assembly process's technical parameters.
