On April 2nd, Sichuan Shuneng Mineral Co., Ltd.'s 50,000 tons/year LFP new material project was officially put into operation. The first shipment is scheduled to start on April 6th.

Sichuan Shu Neng Mining Co., Ltd.'s 50,000 tons/year LFP new material project is located in Labor Industrial Park, Mabian Yi Autonomous County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 131.66 acres with a total construction area of 44,873 square meters. The planned production capacity is 50,000 tons/year and adopts a smart factory model with PLC, DCS, and MES three-level integration, enabling integrated control and management of planning, production, process, quality, equipment, safety, and environmental protection. The project started construction at the end of November 2022, with one production line starting trial operation at the end of July 2023, full completion at the end of October 2023, product validation and factory validation in late January 2024, and official production starting with order review approval in early April 2024.

The official production of the LFP new material project will not only support the development of the new energy vehicle industry and help achieve the national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, but also is of great significance in filling the gap in the manufacturing of LFP cathode materials in Mabian, promoting the extension, supplementation, and strengthening of the green phosphorus chemical industry chain in Leshan, and the transformation of the economic development mode of the phosphorus mining industry.

In the next step, Shuneng Mineral will continue to revolve around the business philosophy of "integrating resources, sustainable development, solidifying industries, optimizing enterprises, rewarding shareholders, and serving society", based on industrial foundations and resource advantages, deepen technological innovation and talent cultivation, continue to exert efforts in the process of high-quality development, strive to become the "vanguard" of the Group's phosphate mining industry transformation and upgrading, and contribute to the Group's accelerated formation of new strategic growth poles.

[SMM Analysis] DRC Cobalt Exports Surge, Shifting Near-Term Bargaining Power to Buyers
The Democratic Republic of the Congo's cobalt exports are gradually recovering, according to the country's mining report for the first half of 2026. The concentrated release of material should ease China's cobalt feedstock shortage and shift bargaining power toward buyers. With cobalt salt demand weak and smelter margins under pressure, additional arrivals will make it harder for sellers to hold firm, and price concessions will be needed to unlock transactions.
