At 7:37 am on February 3, 2024, Geespace successfully launched its second orbital plane of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation satellite network.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- At 7:37 am on February 3, 2024, Geespace, the satellite technology and commercial services company invested by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, successfully launched its second orbital plane of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation satellite network from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, deploying 11 satellites in a single launch.

The Geely Future Mobility Constellation is the world’s first commercial initiative to integrate communication, navigation, and remote sensing within a single satellite network. With the successful placement of the second orbital plane, the constellation now boasts a total of 20 in-orbit satellites, marking a significant stride in Geely's journey towards establishing an integrated global travel ecosystem and empowering user travel experiences comprehensively.

The Future Mobility Constellation is set to complete the first phase deployment with 72 satellites within two years, ensuring global real-time data communication. The subsequent phase aims to expand to 168 satellites, offering global centimeter-level high-precision positioning services.

Equipped with communications, navigation, and remote sensing capabilities, the Geely Future Mobility Constellation leverages satellite communication and high-precision positioning to deliver reliable, cost-effective services for human mobility and consumer electronics applications, including autonomous driving and intelligent connectivity. The constellation's AI remote sensing function provides high-resolution images (1-5m) for applications in ecological monitoring and other domains.

As the Future Mobility Constellation accelerates construction, Geespace has achieved rapid networking and large-scale commercial application deployment. The constellation showcases industry-leading efficiency in satellite manufacturing and system reliability. Geespace has also achieved mass production and integration of its self-developed satellite communication chips and high-precision positioning modules. This deployment seamlessly enhances the intelligent travel experience for users of Geely Holding's brands, including ZEEKR, Lynk & Co, and Farizon Auto.

Notably, the in-car satellite communication feature has already been implemented in Geely's ZEEKR 001FR and the Geely Galaxy E8 models, ensuring a "never out of touch" safety experience in areas with no ground network coverage or network disruptions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
