According to foreign media reports, from April 2023 to December 13, 2023, Metro has achieved the production and transportation of 4.51 million wet tons of bauxite, reaching the lower limit of its sales guidance range of 4.5-5 million wet tons. It is worth noting that Metro's bauxite shipments in November were 697,000 wet tons, which is consistent with the daily average shipment and the planned expansion rate of producing 7 million wet tons of bauxite in 2024.
However, due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Jasper, Metro has suspended bauxite transportation activities since December 13, 2023, and is expected to last 4-6 days. During this period, Metro will continue with ore mining and screening operations, and will immediately resume shipping once conditions improve. If weather conditions permit, this is expected to continue until January 2024.
