The No.6 unit of the Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station in Uganda has successfully connected to the grid for power generation. It was constructed with the participation of the China International Water and Electric Corporation and marks another step towards the comprehensive production and generation goal of Uganda's largest hydroelectric power station. The power station is the third level of the planned seven power stations on the Nile River, with six installed water turbine generator units and a total installed capacity of 600 megawatts. The annual average power generation is approximately 4 billion kWh, making it the largest water conservancy and hydropower project currently under construction in Uganda. As a model of cooperation between China and Uganda under the "Belt and Road" initiative, the Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station carries the century-long dream of the Ugandan people for a prosperous and strong country.
