"NDRC: Survey shows cautious optimism in the steel market in December" According to the National Development and Reform Commission, a survey of major wholesale steel markets nationwide showed that the sales price expectations index and the purchasing price expectations index for steel in December were 52.4% and 56.7% respectively, a decrease of 6.7 and 3.2 percentage points from the previous month, both remaining above the 50% threshold. This reflects the market's continued cautious optimism for steel prices in December, with bullish expectations slightly weakening. The sales volume expectations index and inventory expectations index for steel in December were 42% and 58.5% respectively, a decrease of 2.6 and an increase of 15.8 percentage points from the previous month, indicating that the market expects steel sales volume to continue to decline and inventory levels to increase in December."
