Mercedes-Benz unveiled YASA axial flux permanent magnet motor technology at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show and announced that it will be the first to mass-produce this technology on models equipped with the Mercedes-AMG.EA pure electric platform. YASA axial motor is 2/3 thinner and lighter than traditional radial flux permanent magnet motors, with twice the torque density and three times the power density. On the same day, the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven concept car completed its debut in China.
