Recently, an Algerian company Manou Agro signed a large-scale aluminum industrial project agreement with a Russian consortium in Algiers. The project involves the construction of a large industrial complex for the production of metal aluminum in Ain Témouchent's wilaya, the first of its kind in Algeria, which will use green energy, namely wind energy and green hydrogen, with a demand of about 1000 megawatts. The project is valued at 2.4 billion US dollars, and the financing will be provided by an investment group through HSBC and Dutch Bank, without involving the public finance ministry and Algerian Bank. The project will use environmentally friendly technology to produce aluminum, with an annual capacity of 1 million tons, covering an area of 250 hectares, and will be incorporated into the Algeria-Russia strategic agreement, and will be launched after signing the cooperation agreement and establishing the Algerian company.
