According to the latest data from the China Customs website, the total imports of nickel sulphate in China in September 2023 was 3,181 mt in nickel content, down 24% MoM and up 138% YoY. The exports of nickel sulphate from China were 116 mt in metal content, down 53% MoM and up 5,766% YoY. In September 2023, China had a net import of 3,065 mt in metal content in nickel sulphate, down 22% MoM and up 130% year-on-year YoY.

Analyzing the import data by country, the main reason for the decline in nickel sulphate imports is attributed to delays in the arrival of nickel sulphate produced by Lygend Group in Indonesia in July, which resulted in a sharp increase in imports in August. However, the import volume returned to a stable level in September, leading to a decline in import data.

As for the export data, the main reason for the decline is due to delayed demand from buyers in South Korea.
