According to SMM, Canadian miner Teck Resources has announced that due to weak sales of steelmaking coal, quarterly profits have not met expectations, and the company is rapidly advancing the separation of its coal and copper businesses. Teck Resources has revised its copper mine production forecast for 2023 from 330,000 to 375,000 tonnes to 320,000 to 365,000 tonnes, and has increased the capital cost guidance for its QB2 copper project in Chile, but has stated that the project will still be profitable.
