SMM's national construction steel inventory summary: On October 19, SMM's total inventory of threaded steel this week was 6.0903 million tons, a decrease of 0.4161 million tons from last week, a decrease of 6.40% year-on-year and an increase of 3.53% year-on-year; the total inventory of wire rod was 1.6028 million tons, a decrease of 0.1169 million tons from last week, a decrease of 6.80% year-on-year and a decrease of 16.41% year-on-year.

[ Bharat Coking Coal Output Grows 2.8% in August ]

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) announced that its coking coal production increased by 2.8% year-on-year to 2.18 million tonnes in August 2026. Despite a sharp 65.9% drop in non-coking coal output, the core metallurgical segment drove total raw coal production to 2.21 million tonnes for the month. Opencast mining operations were the primary contributors to this volume, generating 2.19 million tonnes of the total yield.
